The Six-Week Summer Intensive [6WK] is a full-time, immersive training program rooted in the foundational curriculum of The ߲ݴý’s Two-Year Professional Actor Training Program. Built on the principles of the Meisner Technique, the program offers concentrated study in acting, voice and speech, movement, and on-camera work. Designed for students with varying levels of experience, the Summer Intensive provides a rigorous introduction to conservatory-style training in an accelerated format.

Summer Six-Week Intensive
The Six-Week Summer Intensive is a full-time, immersive training program rooted in the foundational curriculum of The ߲ݴý’s Two-Year Professional Actor Training Program. Built on the principles of the Meisner Technique, the program offers concentrated study in acting, voice and speech, movement, and on-camera work. Designed for students with varying levels of experience, the Summer Intensive provides a rigorous introduction to conservatory-style training in an accelerated format.
Curriculum
Meisner Acting Technique
Students are guided through the system of exercises developed by Sanford Meisner at The ߲ݴý, including repetition, improvisation, independent activity, and scene work. The work is designed to develop concentration, responsiveness, and emotional availability, strengthening the actor’s instrument within imaginary circumstances.
Acting for Film & Television
Students learn to translate their work for the camera while meeting the technical demands of on-camera performance. Training includes monologues, scenes, and audition material, which are filmed, reviewed, and critiqued to build clarity, specificity, and adaptability. Topics include audition technique, voiceovers, and professional vocabulary.
Voice and Speech
This course focuses on developing a flexible, resonant, and expressive voice with stamina and range. Students study phonetics and diction with the goal of achieving clear, neutral speech suitable for theatre, film, and television, while reducing habitual tension and accent patterns.
Jazz Dance
An introduction to jazz dance techniques commonly used in contemporary musical theatre. Students learn foundational vocabulary, musicality, and basic choreography, with emphasis on coordination, rhythm, and expressive movement appropriate to performance.
Stage Combat
Students are introduced to the fundamentals of stage combat with emphasis on safety, clarity, and storytelling. Training focuses on basic unarmed techniques and choreographed movement, developing physical awareness and the ability to integrate combat safely and convincingly into performance.
Acting on Pitch
A singing course designed specifically for actors, focused on connecting acting technique to musical performance. Students work on selected songs to develop interpretation, emotional connection, and performance confidence, with the goal of strengthening audition readiness.
Enrollment in the Six-Week Summer Intensive is required. Limited enrollment.
Shakespeare
An introduction to the language and performance of Shakespeare through close reading, text analysis, and scene work. Students explore the structure, rhythm, and emotional life of early modern text while developing tools for clarity, specificity, and truthful performance.

Tuition
Tuition is $4,850, including a $500 enrollment deposit and a $4,350 tuition payment.
